DFW Swing is consistently on the road trying to support as many swing events as we can. It is so important to spread the love that is shown to you when its time for your special event.  This past weekend we had the pleasure of attending James King’s Stage Play “Who Moved MY Viagra” in Garland, TX. Good job James!!  There are some really funny parts in the play. We hear Part II is in the works so stay tuned.  If you ever learned swing dance from James King you know he is going to deliver.

Then with my co-host (Willie Starr II) in tow we ventured to all the stores we could think of to pick up gifts. We ended the night at Swing Dance Studio and boy was it an all night party!! Those attending the Legends Concert (Bobby Womack, Manhattans, and Millie Jackson) all came over to party! Hats off to DJ David Joyce, Chicago Steppin Instructor who guest DJ. He kept the dance floor full!

On Sunday I hosted a special dinner party for the entire DFW Swing Staff to celebrate our anniversary and the beginning of 4 yrs. There is no way I could do A Saturday Night Swing Event without them. (Check out last week’s blog to see the special people who make up the DFW Swing Crew).   Three people who were also in attendance and not listed are Marsha Roberts (Special Projects), Stephenie Whitlock (DFW Swing Website) and Jesse Rivera (Dance Contest Photos).  A special “Thank You” goes out to Malcolm and Patty Houston, swing dancers and owners of Mimi’s Country Buffet for hosting our dinner party.  We stopped by Lady Coco’s (You and Me Dance) Sunday swing class at Swing Dance Studio and ended the night at Derrick Farrow’s (Big Smooth) Essence of Smooth Graduation. The attendance was overwhelming and the graduates did an excellent job!! Big Smooth certainly knows how to put on a show!!

Until next time….keep dancing!!
